Wisdom Teeth Extractions


The wisdom teeth are usually the last four of 32 teeth to erupt in the mouth between the ages of 17 to 25.
The wisdom tooth can become impacted (stuck) in an undesirable or potentially harmful position.
  1. Why you need to remove wisdom teeth:
    -Damage to nearby teeth: Resulting in tooth decay (cavities), periodontal disease (gum disease) and possible bone loss.
    -Disease: Cysts and tumors can occur possiblely in the areas surrounding impacted wisdom teeth.
    -Infection: Causing considerable pain and danger because bacteria and food can be trapped under the gum tissue
    -Tooth Crowding: Impacted wisdom teeth can put pressure on other teeth and may cause them to become misaligned (crowded or twisted).
  2. The removal of wisdom teeth involve:
    The Evaluation of Panoramic or digital x-rays will be needed before the surgery procedure. Wisdom teeth removal is a common procedure under local anesthesia. You will be released with post-operative instructions and medication (if necessary), to help manage any swelling or discomfort.
